On Friday, January 21, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. Allen Mavrides was sworn in as the Mayor of the City of Munroe Falls by The Honorable Tom Teodosio. Mayor Mavrides has been a resident of Munroe Falls since 1972. He received his Civil Engineering degree from The University of Akron and has been working as a Civil/Municipal Engineer for DLZ Ohio, Inc. (formerly John David Jones and Associates) for 46 years, specializing in City Planning and Zoning, Stormwater Management, Capital Improvement and Infrastructure Projects and Capital Improvement Plans and Budgets
Mayor Mavrides is a Board Member of the Akron Regional Air Quality Management District, Chairperson of the Summit County Planning Commission, for which he has served for 10 years, was a member of the Munroe Falls Charter Review Commission and was a Munroe Falls Ward 3 Councilman for four years and 21 days prior to becoming Mayor.
Having been instrumental with the future plans of the City, Mayor Mavrides plans to continue the progress as he guides the City through the capital improvements projects underway. He also plans to focus on revitalizing the Citicenter and Guise Park area. Mayor Mavrides and his wife, Larisa, have two children and four grandchildren.
