John was born and raised in Syracuse, New York, then moved to Akron in 1991 to study for his Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Akron. He has lived in different parts of Northeast Ohio ever since, landing his forever home in Munroe Falls 8 years ago. He is a Senior IT Testing Coordinator for the University Hospitals network, and as of January 3rd, a member of the City Council of Munroe Falls.
After being edged out of a seat on the City Council two years ago, John became a member of the Park Board. “I never lost the drive to serve the City,” John stated.
During his tenure on the Park Board, John received a proclamation from Mayor Armstrong recognizing his time, effort, and dedication in keeping the Amphitheatre clean and free of litter and debris and declaring October 24, 2020 “John Impellizzeri Day.”
Still wanting to become a Councilman, John ran for an at-large seat in November 2021. This time the voters determined that he had earned his place on City Council through his work and dedication to Munroe Falls. John is grateful that they put their trust in him and plans to fulfill his duties to the best of his ability.
When not working, John and his wife Tari, enjoy watching his daughter Lily compete in her Bandolero racer at Barberton Speedway. John also plays concert piano, a talent he has enjoyed for over 40 years.
